I love software testing and all things that encompass this amazing profession.

It started while I was working in customer support in my first position at a software company, wherein in my spare time, I would familiarize myself with the software we were developing through training materials. I was learning what the software could do, but I was more interested in what the software wasn’t supposed to do. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was conducting exploratory testing, and as a result of that came an unsolicited offer to join the QA Department. Within two years, I was promoted many times, to a Sr. Test Engineer, Lead Test Engineer, and finally, QA Manager.

Today, I’m a QA Engineering Manager at iSpot.tv, managing the resources, architecture, and planning for our front end and back end testing activities, as it pertains to our home site, as well as customer analytics site. My management responsibilities include but are not limited to manual, automated, and API testing, as well as CI/CD. I also have the pleasure of coaching our QA staff on their development goals.

Outside of the office, I continue to be a student of testing and enjoy learning new testing techniques, practices, and methodologies. It provides the opportunity for me to coach my team on the latest and greatest, as well as to conduct proof of concepts to see if what we’ve learned can bring value to the work we are doing today.

Before getting involved in this profession, I worked in the entertainment industry in various roles in radio, magazines, and marketing & promotion at music labels. The journey was unexpected, but I continue to be extremely grateful that testing has found me.
